They are a little annoying but I think this is about how my early M37 excursions are going to go... I dont have an overdrive, I just swapped the gearing. Mine is also not synched going down. At least I have power steering and disk brakes going in.

I usually enjoy Car Throttle when I watch it, they are a little obnoxious, but entertaining...my favorites are their videos on odd/classic stuff or cheap/basic stuff. Watched this this morning, cool old beast!

Put vehicle in gear, push in clutch. Get vehicle moving, dump clutch. Something to that effect, right?

Yep basically. I usually use 2nd gear. Also have just pushed the car while in gear but that's harder to do
